According to Twitter, the advertisers must be licensed by the proper authorities. Additionally, they can only target areas where they are licensed. Advertisers also can’t gear the ads toward anyone under 21. Along with these regulations and more, Twitter must pre-authorize the companies beforehand. According to AdCann, “American cannabis companies, brands and purveyors will need to pass through a Twitter advertiser approval process to ensure they are legitimate and educated on the platform.”
After Twitter approves advertisers, they can access all of Twitter’s products, including product opportunity promotions, promoted tweets, and more. To remain in good standing, CBD companies must ensure they comply with all state regulations.
